The website indicated that the new smart assistant will be a strong competitor to ChatGPT, explaining that the model outperformed the competitors despite containing a smaller number of parameters (only 7 billion), as it showed better performance than the “o1-mini” model from “OpenAI” and the “Qwen QwQ-32B-Preview” model from “Alibaba” in basic tests.

The website indicated that the president of Xiaomi had previously stated that the company would invest large amounts of money in developing artificial intelligence during the current year. He also revealed that the goal of the company’s engineers is to deeply integrate neural networks with the physical world.

Experts on the site expected that the “Mi Chat” assistant would be officially announced during the Xiaomi 2025 Human Car Home Ecosystem Partner Conference scheduled to be held in Beijing on December 17.
