The increase in males going in for cosmetic operations is something that Dr. David Shaferof New York City’s elite Shafer Clinic Fifth Avenue, has seen firsthand.
‘Yes, there has been a noticeable and sustained rise in men seeking aesthetic treatments, both surgical and non-invasive,’ Dr. Shafer, who has treated a number of stars, told Daily Mail.
‘What is most significant is not just the increase in volume, but the shift in attitude,’ he added.
‘Men are open, educated, and proactive about addressing concerns related to confidence, body image, and aging.’

Dr. McNally said that this will remain a big reason for the increase in body contouring, especially in men.
Similarly, Dr. Shafer has seen his clients come in for eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty, abdominal and chest liposuction, gynecomastia surgery, Botox, and skin tightening and sculpting treatments.
There are vast distinctions between what men and women want, too, and the primary difference is their ‘intent,’ the New York-based plastic surgeon explained.
‘Men prioritize natural-looking outcomes that preserve masculine anatomy,’ he said.

‘The goal is to look proportionate, confident, and refreshed without obvious signs of intervention. They also are looking for quicker recovery and less downtime.’
This has led to a boom in interest when it comes to male-specific procedures, too – and some of them are the kind that you can’t always see, like penile enhancement.

At his office, Dr. Shafer has been performing his non-surgical penis enhancement treatment, Shafer Width and Girth, or, as he likes to call it, S.W.A.G.
‘S.W.A.G. uses hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, the same FDA-approved products used in the face, to safely and effectively increase penile width and girth with minimal downtime,’ the plastic surgeon explained.
‘The procedure is performed in-office while the patient is awake, allowing for immediate results,’ he said.

And the rise in male plastic surgery seems like it’s only just beginning.
This coming year, in 2026, Dr. Shafer believes that there will continue to be growth in ‘non-surgical and minimally invasive procedures’ that provide immediate results and nearly zero downtime, as well as other operations, like facelifts.
‘Male-focused body contouring, skin tightening, and injectable treatments will remain popular, along with procedures that address intimate concerns such as penile enhancement,’ Dr. Shafer told Daily Mail.
‘Preventative aesthetics will also play a larger role, with younger men seeking treatments earlier to maintain results long-term,’ he said.

‘In middle-aged and older men, facelift surgery is booming in parallel with women seeking traditional plastic surgery.’
Dr. Shafer credits it to a ‘decrease’ in cultural stigma and procedures to choose from.
‘Men today are comfortable investing in their appearance and overall confidence,’ he explained.
‘Cultural stigma has significantly decreased, and there is greater awareness of safe, effective options that fit into busy lifestyles,’ he continued.
