We Tried Starbucks’ Holiday Menu

The holidays are prime time for sweet and spiced treats, and Starbucks is delivering exactly that with some exciting new offerings on its seasonal menu for 2025 and beyond.

The Seattle-based coffee giant’s holiday menu just launched at cafes last week, featuring a mix of new items and nostalgic favorites. Longtime Starbucks fans will recognize the original Eggnog Latte — which will be making a return after a five-year break following Thanksgiving — while newer customers might enjoy Starbucks’ holiday cold foam offerings.

Five hot and iced seasonal drinks have already arrived on menus, all served in the latest red and green holiday cups. Four cold foams and two new food items — the Cinnamon Pull-Apart Bread and Polar Bear Cake Pop — also landed at Starbucks during the first week of November.

Along with two new sweet treats, Starbucks has brought back its seasonal favorites like the Cranberry Bliss Bars and Sugar Plum Cheese Danish. Several other offerings, including the highly anticipated Eggnog Latte and Chestnut Praline Latte, will be available starting December 2.

Peppermint Mocha

This flavorful, minty drink first appeared on Starbucks menus in 2002, and it has remained a customer favorite ever since, thanks to its classic flavor combination. You don’t need to change this order; the Peppermint Mocha is excellent just the way it is, with a rich chocolate syrup balanced by the cooling notes of peppermint.

Eggnog Latte

Starbucks managed to transform a polarizing beverage into something that’s easily sippable at 8 a.m. While I wouldn’t consider myself a fan of classic eggnog, I do enjoy Starbucks’ caffeinated rendition of the drink, which has a rich, creamy flavor and luscious texture that pairs well with the bitter notes of coffee. A sprinkling of nutmeg on top is the perfect finishing touch, and unlike homemade versions, you won’t find any raw eggs in the coffee chain’s eggnog drinks.

Starbucks’ Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai and Iced Gingerbread Chai have been big hits in recent years, and they still rank among the best drinks on the holiday menu. This beverage is crafted for spice lovers, featuring warming spices in the chai, gingerbread syrup, and even the pillowy cold foam on top. The “iced” aspect of the drink ensures that there’s just enough sweetness to balance out those earthy, aromatic flavors.

Cinnamon Pull-Apart Bread

The new Cinnamon Pull-Apart bread isn’t just here for the holidays; it’s also joining the permanent Starbucks menu. This pastry is topped with a crunchy, crumbly streusel and is easy to tear apart into snackable bites.

I’d declare this balanced, slightly nutty drink to be the pièce de résistance on the chain’s holiday menu. When you want to give someone a sweet surprise this season, this is the perfect, adorable bite.

The Cranberry Bliss Bar makes its welcome return this year. The Starbucks classic is akin to a white chocolate blondie and coated in a citrusy cream cheese icing, with tart dried cranberries studded throughout.
