Sydney Sweeney fans have been left shocked over her latest racy appearance, as some have claimed that the star looked more than a decade older than her real age.

The actress, 28, left very little to the imagination as she went braless on the red carpet at this year’s Variety Power of Women: Los Angeles event on Wednesday.

And while her risqué look certainly caught many people’s attentionthere was something else that sparked a debate online: how old she looked at the event.

One fan took to X afterwards claiming that the 28-year-old looked like she was 40 years old, and it went viral, gaining over 1.9 million views and launching a fierce conversation about Sweeney’s appearance.

‘Why does she look 40?’ the tweet read, alongside a snap of the blonde beauty on the red carpet.

‘The bob and the cut of the neckline give middle aged housewife,’ one person theorized in the replies.

‘She’s only eight years older than me but she looks as though she’s pushing 40 I don’t want the same thing for myself,’ another user worried.

Others, however, disagreed with the sentiment and came to Sweeney’s defense.

‘She doesn’t look 40 she looks like an adult,’ one person fired back.

‘One, she doesn’t look 40 and two, there’s nothing wrong with being a 40 year old woman,’ scathed someone else.

The Euphoria star posed up a storm in her sparkly silver dress with a sheer bodice, which put her famous chest on display.

The gown, a collaboration by Christian Cowan, 29, and upcoming designer Elias Matso, 23, draped over Sweeney’s curves and showed off the star’s tiny waist by wrapping around her like a wrung-out towel.

The blonde bombshell exuded confidence in the daring look in front of photographers.

She was seen rocking her new bleach blonde bob, which was styled to perfectly frame her heart-shaped face.

Sweeney also faced backlash after she opened up about feeling judged in Hollywood while wearing the revealing sheer gown onstage during the event.

She delivered a vulnerable speech about resilience, identity and being underestimated in the industry.

‘I’m not a fighter in the ring, but I recognize something of myself in (Christy Martin),’ Sweeney said while discussing her role portraying the trailblazing boxer in her upcoming film Christy.

The actress said Martin’s story – as a gay woman in male-dominated boxing who was victimized by her husband and trainer – resonated deeply with her.

‘I know what it feels like to be underestimated, to have people define you before you’ve had a chance to define yourself. I know what it feels like to have to prove that you deserve to be here, to be seen, to be taken seriously,’ Sweeney continued.

‘But every one of us has our own fight, and Christy reminds us all that strength doesn’t look loud sometimes, and sometimes it’s just about getting back up again and again, no matter who’s watching.’

While Sweeney’s speech drew applause in the room, online reaction was far more brutal, with many accusing the actress of contradicting her own message about objectification by wearing a sheer dress that fully exposed her chest.
